You can find us at Haig colliery mining museum at the west side of Whitehaven in Kells.
We are open Tuesday through to Sunday in term time, and 7 days a week in school holidays from 10am to 4pm, Admission to the visitor centre is free, museum admission is £5.00 per adult, £4.50 concessions and £3.00 per child. Under 5s go free and schools and groups should ring to make appointments
We have an ex miner as a guide on most weekends

Haig Pit Mining And Colliery Museum. 
Its really good to hear about the engine renovation, I last saw it in 1966 on a visit from Harrington no 10 where I worked.I am visiting relatives 10 th to 14 th August so hope to pop in and renew old memories. Regards Dave DIXON FROM Stonehenge.

Hello my name is Stephen Stankowski I am writing to.you to see if you have any information regarding my father. His name was Jerzy Stankowski He worked in Cumbria between 1960 and 1975 down the mines he stayed in a guest house in Whitehaven but I do not know what Mine he worked down I know that he worked for a company in Leigh in Wigan called Leigh Tunnelling Company I don’t know if this company was associated with minning in Cumbria but any information about my father would be welcome thanks
